Bollywood is bigger than I thought. You wouldn't imagine the sheer amount of time spent watching Hindi music videos on TV, listening to Bollywood songs on the radio, talking about actors and actresses, and then watching a few movies. So here are a few parts of my month away from you guys. Crazy Kiya Re: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJOq9WT4mhQ This song was everywhere. On New Years Eve, we could hear it being played and replayed in a nearby apartment. One day I heard it on the radio thrice in the span of like an hour. It was almost always on TV. And the movie from where it came, Dhoom 2, I saw four times. I didn't really want to, but it just happened that way. The girl's Aishwarya and Hrittik's there too. I love the dance. A lot of girls and guys memorize the more popular dances there, like this one. Dhoom Again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYc8W_kHEOE&mode=related&search= The sound's timing is a bit off but I couldn't find one where it wasn't and the picture was still good. It looks a lot better when the timing's not off. This was also really hot, because, really, nobody dances better than Hrittik. Also from Dhoom 2. The movie, though, wasn't all that amazing. I also saw Don, which I liked a lot better. Shah Rukh Khan. Here's my favorite video from there: Khaike Paan Banaraswala: First some explanation: Paan is this plant thing with stuff in it (I'm not really well versed on paan) that's kind of like a drug. I don't know if it is a drug, but old people get addicted to it. My grandma used to eat it all the time. It makes your teeth black and your tongue red. And Shah Rukh drunk a lot before he started dancing. He loves paan, and someone offered him paan of a very fine quality, so he couldn't resist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfBoHTz8Z4A I love this video. And I wish I knew Hindi! :( The rest of the movie actually has a very different feel. You can use the links to see (like songs Main Hoon Don and Aaj Ki Raat). |
